Then told myself "I will throw away everything I think I know about this and just seek expert opinion. I looked at every kind of brand in every price range. I was looking for weeks, really, weeks - yet nothing spoke to me. While more towards the soft end, 1045 is a great steel. ![]() I know a great deal about steel and knew that I wanted what to look for. The price was $130 plus shipping, which is way less then I was ready to pay! I did not know what exactly I was looking for but I wanted a real Hamon, bo-hi, and a Sori no more than an inch. Also, the teal green was definitely a tie-breaker! I found it actually here, browsing, finding reasons not to order a "custom" from SwordsOfNorthsire. What attracted me to this particular model was the great amount of amazing feedback that Ronin Katana enjoys plus the low price for this seemingly great all-rounder. In that case, please correct meĪs previously mentioned, buying my first real Katana was long overdue! I want to get into cutting and collecting of these beautiful works of art. So I might say things because of my low level of experience that are not necessarily true. Before I get started I'd like to respectfully ask for patience since I'm neither an expert concerning knowledge, nor proficient by any means. I recently purchased a Musashi Iaito (nothing special really) and even more recently, a RK Entry Level Katana Model #9 - which arrived today. I spent 17 years in Germany and had to get my hands on a few cool things once I moved stateside. I've always been interested in Japanese culture, especially everything concerning the samurai. ![]() My name's George, 24, I'm stationed in Fort Bragg, NC, and I jump out of planes for a living. Since I could not find a place for intros, I'll do it here briefly. ![]() I've been lingering around here for quite some time, gathering knowledge and advise - and now it's time to introduce myself properly with a review.
